Go to bed. Wake up there.
Go to bed. Wake up there.
Dreamstar is developing a premium overnight passenger train service. Our focus is on the "500 Mile Gap" where the trip is "too far to drive, and too short to fly." With us, you board your train in the evening, fall asleep in a private compartment, and awaken just before arrival.
About two comfortable waking hours in transit -- versus five hours fighting traffic to and from the airport, waiting in endless check-in and security lines, wedging yourself into 18 inches of seat, and arriving feeling like you've already put in a full day's work. Your call, obviously, but we think the choice is clear.
It's not your grandfather's sleeping car -- but he'd wish it was. The comfort, elegance and service of the Golden Age of Travel, with a big boost of 21st century tech. Stream a movie, play a game, or head down to the club car for a culinary adventure. Let our concierge service help arrange your day at your destination.
Dreamstar's business model is straightforward: In travel corridors of roughly 400-700 miles length, overnight passenger rail has decisive advantages, when it comes to time, comfort, and environmental efficiency over the primary competing modes (airlines and private autos).
We focus on corridors between major travel markets roughly eight to ten hours' easy rail travel apart, connected by ample but relatively underused rail lines, which are not currently served by Amtrak overnight service.
Our plan is for the initial route, which we hope to launch relatively shortly, to be the busy Los Angeles - San Francisco Bay corridor. We have begun discussions with track and terminal operators for that service. Future expansion of our service is contemplated for numerous other routes across the country that fit our proprietary criteria.
Our project has a lot of moving parts. We are working to secure track and terminal access, source rolling stock and equipment, and arrange all the details necessary for a truly special class of service. Follow us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/dreamstarlines/ for updates on our progress.
